So a friend and I were chatting on Whatsapp a while ago.  She was commiserating leaving her holiday location to come home and face a week back at work. unnamed Back to reality….  I typed in the comment in the picture and then was stuck by it.  Very impressed with myself for coming up with it actually.  So impressed I actually posted it on Facebook.  Vanity, I tell you Vanity.

No actually, I think as many of us face the reality of Monday which is getting back to the routine that can be life, we often face this with a dread.  The only problem with that is we land up stealing the joy and peace of today for the uncertainty of what tomorrow holds.  How much of life do we miss out on by focusing on the “what if’s” of a day we have yet to experience.

The reason why this comment, that literally flew off my fingers impacted me so much is that I realized how often I do it.  I miss out of what is happening all around me because I become too preoccupied with what is to come.  How many times have I been less than present to those I love because my mind was running through the “To Do list” or the “To pay list”.

I am not saying don’t plan!  Those who fail to plan, plan to fail…. Make time for that in your schedule, but don’t let it eat into your family time or business time.  Be there!  Be present!  Engage!

So, I would like to encourage you this week.  Embrace every moment!  Live in the NOW! Find the lesson in the hard stuff.  Celebrate the fun stuff.  Engage and love completely the people in your life.  Listen intently to your children, look them in their eyes, look into their hearts.  Take the time to look at and listen to the people who work with and for you too.

Let me know what happens……..

Hope your Proverb a Day is going well. My favourite today is verse 20.  Great wisdom for the workplace…. “For lack of wood the fire goes out, and where there is no whisperer, contention ceases.”

Yours in growth,
