I’ve been thinking about balance lately – and while balancing everything we have going on is certainly a challenge, I was actually thinking about another type of balance – the balance between truth & grace.

When Clarkie and I were at Capernwray a couple of weeks ago, Dave Firth suggested that Jesus was the perfect balance of truth & grace – which I wholeheartedly agree with. Us on the other hand, well, sometimes we’re too much truth, not enough grace and vice-versa.

“For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” John 1:17

I think this struggle for balance is something that can be seen in nearly everything we do. Especially in the workplace! As leaders & business owners, we’re constantly having to respond to how other people do things – and how do we respond?

It can be really difficult to share truth in a graceful way. On the flipside, it’s tough to share grace, without compromising the truth. I’m not sure if this is something that we can actually solve, but rather something that we are continually called to journey through.

I’d like to encourage you as we head into a new week – if there’s a situation (mess) at home or at work, that you’re tempted to avoid or run away from… remember that God ran to us in our mess. Ask God to help you find a way to show His grace in the situation, without compromising His truth.

May God bless you and your family this week!
