A Road Map For Each Team Member

Position Contracts are vital for each working position within our business. Our people get ‘the picture’ from day one!

A documented Position Contract must reflect our Vision Statement. It is a great yardstick for helping us recruit, hire and train new staff. It keeps our long term employees ‘on point’ and from becoming ‘over confident’.

Collectively, Position Contracts keep the whole team in synch with our key purpose. Employees do not have to ‘mind read the boss’ and new employees understand ‘this is how we do it around here’.

A quality Position Contract is simple and ‘to the point’ and preferably no longer than three pages. It should include: 1. Why the position exists 2. The specifics of what work is required 3. The standards of how the work should be performed and measured with a maximum of seven achievable KPI’s and 4. It should be agreed to and signed by the employee and their manager at position acceptance.

A good Position Contract brings clarity and eliminates uncertainty, misunderstanding and doubt. Clarity sets the pace for ‘all round’ warm and respectful working relationships – helping the team unite and pull in the one direction…our vision!

“…And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:6-9

“…Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.” Proverbs 1:8-9

“…Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
