Good morning Business

Pray.

At the recent Governors Prayer Breakfast Western Australia 2014 over 800 people including the Honourable Premier Colin Barnett and many market place and community leaders were captivated by a remarkable speech by Bronwen Healy the founder and executive director of the Hope Foundation.

Bronwen’s talk concluded with a standing ovation. The Holy Spirit through Bronwen’s story brushed the hearts of Christians and non Christians alike. Rescued from prostitution and a $1000 a day heroine addiction Bronwen convincingly shared the desperation of Jesus to find the lost and broken (listen to the audio here).

Bronwen has chosen to stand high in the marketplace and allow Him to shine through her. ‘The God who said, “Out of darkness the light shall shine!” is the same God who made his light shine in our hearts, to bring us the knowledge of God’s glory shining in the face of Christ’ 2 Corinthians 4:6.

Thought for the week…

Joy!

How can we as business people stand high for Him from our successes and failures to allow Him to freely work through us to reveal His perfect love to our staff, suppliers and clients? I believe one way is to treat our professional work as an ‘act of worship’ as encouraged by Ed Silvoso in ‘Anointed for Business’.

Let’s honour Him with all of our business dealings and thoughts. Let’s serve our staff and suppliers as we would our clients. When inevitably we ‘drop the ball’ every so often lets be ‘man’ or ‘woman’ enough to admit our mistakes and say ‘sorry’ to those that have suffered. Let’s move from ‘get’ to ‘give’ mentality in all of our business negotiations.

“…Lord help us to stand tall for You where we represent the hands and feet of Your Son as we strive to serve our brothers and sisters (irrespective of rank) to the very best of our ability within the sphere of influence You have entrusted us in the mighty name Jesus – Amen!”

In His Prosperity,

James
